Raglan based bespoke kitchens & living design

We walked into Motide's Raglan showroom and workshop for a chat and behind-the-scenes peek.
Take a look at our Instagram Reel for a bit of a showroom walk-through.

Sascha is a German cabinet maker and true craftsman his partner Christina brings the perfect addition of architecture and interior design to the table - she even whips up her own colour blends! Sustainability is high on their list of values and a big part of why they love calling Raglan their home. They are always looking for natural products to work with, such as certified sustainable plywood, cane, cork and natural finishings such as Osmo oils because eco does not mean boring at all.

Together they are designing and executing the most beautiful, custom kitchens, furniture and lifestyle products. And more recently the couple decided to make it official and add architecture to their offerings as a logical next step, taking the client journey to a whole other level.

One thing that quickly stands out when you meet these two is the down-to-earth approach to everything they touch.

We can tell by their humbly light-up faces that there is pride in what they are offering, working with quality partners such as Blum hardware, Osmo, Resene and Dulux. Sascha and Christina have created something truly unique, not only is their workshop free of nasties but their products are natural and safe for the little people to enjoy as well. The boys in the workshop tell us; it's fun and genuinely satisfying to create these pieces, knowing they will be loved and treasured for years to come.

Christina; We don't just do kitchens, we embark on an individual journey with our clients and really focus on the holistic picture of how they intend to interact with their new space. Finding that common ground with our client is our highest intention. We love to get amongst it, meet in person and also go and see how they are currently living and what might be missing from their current setup as well as considering everybody who will be using the space, children, extended family, guests, pets etc.

We do that not just for our architecture and interior design part of Motide but also for our bespoke kitchen designs. We love the challenge of finding creative solutions with and for our clients.

Sascha adds; I need to be there and really connect with the person not just work off a piece of paper.

Choosing materials, colours and budget priorities can be overwhelming at best. The Motide team has made it their unique focus to not only create beautiful, long-lasting products but actually guide and advise their clients through the entire process, right down to picking the perfect handles. The team are currently involved with several new builds here on Rangitahi, and we can't wait to see these come through the finish line.
